So I came across this new indoor skatepark in Vancouver Wa. Its called Toxic Skatepark, Owner Mike Perkins opened the place in 2008. In 2009 Toxic Built an indoor Skate and bike area as well as a full service Skate shop and Bmx shop .


Toxic Skate Hours of operation are as follows , Monday-Thursday 3pm till 10 pm Friday 3pm till 11pm Saturday Noon till 11pm Sunday Noon till 10pm


All Riders must sign Waiver under 18 years parents must be present with valid ID . Helmets Required for riders under 18 . 

Rates are 3 hours for $4.00 to Skate or bike . Sorry no Scooters or roller blades .

The city of Portland is planing on building 19 new skate parks. And Chief of Staff Tom Miller (known skateboarding advocate) has been out spoken about bikes not being in the parks. Mr. Miller, over 10 years ago before he went political, was on a comity along side another skateboarder, and a fellow bmx rider named Dean Dickinson. Here is a quote from an article written by the wall street journal "Mr. Miller has publicly opposed letting BMX bikes into skate parks, citing the risk of biker/skater collisions. That move has drawn the ire of BMX bike riders. “It’s almost like skaters are the cops now,” says Mr. Dickinson, the BMXer."

WE ALL know that the collisions are two sided, one can be paying attention while another will not wait his turn and end up causing a wreck. Pointing the finger just at BMX riders shows lack of a brain in Mr. Millers head. You'd think someone with an education could figure this out.

Us riders must unite to make our voices heard! If we become lazy and just sit back and bitch and complain we will not get any right to any of these parks. Its time to get off your ass and send Tom Miller a nice e-mail letting him know that what he is doing is very contradictive to what he believes in, equal rights for all. Don't sit back and let this tool oppress us riders! Think your too young to e-mail him? Your not! And have your parents send him a nice e-mail about how he is spending their tax money and not letting their kids enjoy what they paid for! Tom Miller could care less about bmx riders and their right to use a public park funded by tax money! Lets get him out of office!

And please be respectful! We are all ambassadors to this sport that we all love. Lets show that we can rise up and be above all this. We all know he is a tool, he even knows he is a tool, so its already established.

And while your at it, send mayor Sam Adams a nice e-mail about how he picked an oppressor for chief of staff. For a guy that's already in trouble with the law and wont last long, he should be walking on egg shells with about who is surrounding him. More bad publicity will get Mr. Miller out of office!

Yet again them skateboarders who we all know and love have discraced the skatepark once again! This past Sunday, a 3 day skate compitition "trifecta" made its way to Pier Park. Well I showed up this morning expecting to see chaos.. and I was right as normal..  Well like before, I have contacted the City of Portland's Park Supervisor. They will be charged a fine for the litter and disposal fee of garbage. And posablly banned from next years Portland Parks. I personally agree, and hope they follow through and teach them a lesson. Here are the pictures.

Also on another anti skate post haha, I was sent this link to a Skate Park Myth Buster site haha. check it out HERE. Skateboard only parks that are heavily monitored by cops and rangers, And a guy took pics of the damage. NO bikes are present in these parks and yet damage still occurs? HOW? Well, maybe its actually skaters! But how could they, they are above all in the alternative sport world. "In the words of Dan" THE MYTH IS PROVEN WRONG!!!!! SKATEBOARDS CAUSE JUST AS MUCH DAMAGE!!!!!!!

I talked to the City of Portland's Alex S. who is the Parks Maintenance Supervisor. We talked for awhile along with an Officer Sarah. They are planning on stepping up enforcement to prevent this from happening more!

All this is going on after 6:00PM when the drunken skaters come out.. So if you see stuff like this, the Officer advised me, along with everyone else to make an anonymous phone call to 911!

Went to Carlton this weekend to help Sage Howard out with getting things done before the big jam this Sunday the 7th.  Let me tell you.  He is getting this place so insanely dialed!  You would not believe.  I've never seen anybody do so much work in my entire life!  This guy was working from 7 in the morning to 11 at night just full force non stop all day!  So make sure you thanks Sage!

Well Chester Blacksmith has been in Germany for the past two months and took the time to give a quick interview and Bike check for us! Thanks Chet.

PortlandRiders: So your currently in Germany, what are you up to out in Europe?
Chet: Right now i am working of a video section for wethepeople, Shooting ad's for 2010 stuff and having a good time traveling and seeing new places. This trip has been really good so far. Wild times and some really good laughs!

So I was up in Idaho this past week, so heres my little Rip-Off Road Fools Style video, I know its ghetto, but makes for a good video!! It was an awesome trip, wish I had more bmx footage. Watch in HQ!

As you can see the dirt setup is amazing!  Sage Howard has been putting in a lot of work up there this spring.  Caleb Ruecker has been putting in a lot of work as well.  Not only is the Dirt amazing but the ramp setup is really fun too!  The ramps are made out of wood and they are so fun to do maneuvers on!  I know that if you come down you will have fun! 

Also note that Helmets are required.

The Forest Grove Jam was a success!  It was definitely a really great time and really chill.  Nobody felt that they had to live up to any reputations or anything like that!

Saturday 16th - I'm getting together a Morning/Afternoon sesh at Beaverton Skatepark! Gonna be filming for the "Portland Riders" video! So if you wanna make it into the video, show up and shred! Hit up the message board for more info! Then later on on the SAME DAY! There will be the premier for the new SUNDAY! Video. "’Up Up and Away!" At GOODS bmx off MLK, and that starts at 7 PM!
 
Sunday 17th - Then make your way out to Forrest Grove Skatepark for a fun jam! The guys at GOODS bmx are providing FREE pizza!!

The Week of the 18th -  Then I'm planning on heading out to Idaho for a lil trip to visit my friend! So if your in, around or are planning on visiting the Spokane/Post Falls/Cour de Alene area, hit me up on myspace, or the message board! I'll have my camera filming for the site as well! I hope to meet more PRS fans on my trip! I'll post pictures up as the trip starts! - Kyle H.
